Frazey Ford concert

7 Nov

Espace culturel LE ROUDOUR, 1 Rue Park Ar Roudour, 29600 Saint-Martin-des-Champs

Six years on from *U kin B the Sun*, the cult album in which she explored an organic and magnetic brand of soul, Frazey Ford returns to the stage with that gentle, radiant intensity that makes her unique. Formerly the lead singer of the folk trio The Be Good Tanyas, she has since developed a more direct, embodied style of songwriting and a free-flowing sound, imbued with groove, 70s funk and a vibrant spirituality. Her voice, at once fragile and powerful, floats over improvised rhythms, spellbinding bass lines and silky harmonies, creating spaces to embrace joy, anger or tenderness. On stage, the Canadian Frazey Ford exudes a rare, magnetic presence, oscillating between introspection and luminous trance. A precious encounter with an essential artist, for an evening that feels as though time has stood still…
