"The Great Forgotten Women of History", by the theatre company Je est un autre

19 Mar

Rue du Puits Manu, 45190 Beaugency

As part of the ‘Elles au Centre’ Festival

Based on the essay of the same name by Titiou LECOQ. Throughout history, women have taken action. They have ruled, written, campaigned, created, fought and, at times, spoken out. And yet, for the most part, they are absent from history textbooks. Why has this been so largely overlooked? From the Stone Age to the present day, Titiou LECOQ draws on the most recent discoveries to analyse the mechanisms behind this biased view of history. She brings forgotten faces back to life, telling the stories of the many invisible women who have changed the world. Educational, incisive, irresistible – with her, everything becomes clear. Women have never remained silent. The theatre company ‘Je est un autre’ has chosen to adapt this text to convey the message through a different artistic form, whilst retaining the vitality of the literary essay. Suitable for ages 12 and over
