Les anges musiciens des Loges

72440 Coudrecieux

CallWebsiteDirections

The present-day commune of Coudrecieux comprises the former parish of the same name, which was merged with that of Les Loges in 1808. The place-names of these villages reflect their wooded surroundings, with forests still accounting for 50 per cent of the area today. Coudrecieux takes its name from the hazel wood, known locally as ‘coudre’, whilst Les Loges refers to the simple dwellings, made of branches and heather, temporarily occupied by charcoal burners and other forest workers. The Coudrecieux circular walk will allow you to discover the rich architectural and landscape heritage of this commune. Examples include the Manoir de la Cour, the Château des Loges and the church at Les Loges (with its renowned stone bell tower dating from the year 1000)… These features are highlighted by information panels. A map and full description of the route are available in the ‘Guide Rando du Perche Sarthois’ (50 walks). On sale at tourist information centres in the Perche Sarthois region for €10.
