Place du 11 Novembre, 53000 Laval
Laval’s Fireflies are back – much to your delight! In 2026, come and explore Laval during the Christmas lights. We’re organising a unique night-time race with a map to help you discover or rediscover our beautiful city. And this year, Orientation 53 is teaming up with Téléthon 53
Welcome to Les Lucioles de Laval! The idea is to help you discover the town of LAVAL during the Christmas lights in a fun way. The aim is to find checkpoints that will guide you to various points of interest around the town. You can choose to look for all the checkpoints, or just some of them. You’re also free to decide the order in which you search for them and the route you take to get there. At the end of your route, you’ll be told how many checkpoints you’ve found and your completion time, but there won’t be an official ranking – this isn’t a competition! No medical certificate is required; everyone takes part at their own risk. You can search for the checkpoints on your own (if you are over 18) or in a group. Depending on the option you choose, you will be provided with a map and an electronic tag (to validate the checkpoints) by the organisers, either per person or for the team. Before starting your route, you’ll need to leave a deposit cheque for €60 (or a form of ID), which you’ll get back once you’ve returned the electronic tag. Most checkpoints are accessible to wheelchair users (the few that aren’t will be specified when you collect your map). Please note: as the number of electronic tags is limited, don’t delay in registering! On-the-spot registration will only be possible if tags are still available, and will incur a surcharge (Adults: €10, Accompanied minors: €5, Families or teams: €20). Don’t forget: your head torch and your high-visibility vest! Starts will take place between 5.30 pm and 9.30 pm. You can set off whenever you like and take as long as you wish. The only requirement is that you return your electronic tag by 10.00 pm, as the circuit closes then! One last thing: the roads will not be closed off for the event. You will not have priority on the road and must comply with the Highway Code. We hope we’ve answered all your questions. If not, please don’t hesitate to send us a message. So we look forward to seeing you at Place du 11 Novembre on Friday 11 December between 5.30 pm and 9.30 pm!
