Marie Bluteau’s Wild Thoughts

19 Nov

Elizabeth and Jo, 16B Rue de l'Église, 29470 Plougastel-Daoulas

Marie Bluteau is in charge of the ALT collection, which was launched in 2023 by La Martinière publishers. These are short, socially engaged essays that aim to contribute in a different way to “empowering and developing the voices of teenagers and young adults – voices that are often overlooked – by providing them with tools for reflection” on the world around them. This collection is set against a backdrop of a world influenced by the media and social media; affected by major challenges; and shaped by diverse schools of thought and political currents. Each book addresses a shared concern or a political, social or societal issue at the heart of current debates. Drawing on notable titles from the ALT collection, a discussion will take place with Marie Bluteau on socially engaged and critical literature aimed at teenagers and young adults. How can we engage with young people in this constantly changing world? Which approaches and topics should be prioritised? What do young readers think? Practical information: Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes. Booking required via the bookshop; by email or telephone.
