Show – KARAOKE

20 Nov

Grand Théâtre de Provence, 380 Avenue Max Juvénal, 13100 Aix-en-Provence

Karaoke is a total show that blends singing, of course, with theatre and cinema. The premise? A dream – or rather, a nightmare… The singer is thrust onto the stage without having prepared anything – no lyrics, no music – and has no idea what to do…

On a bare stage, Raphaël engages in conversation with a (playful) artificial intelligence that suggests a karaoke session. Amidst algorithms and vibrations, set to the tunes of old hits recorded and reworked on guitar or keyboards by a DJ, a concert unfolds before our eyes that is ‘wandering, hazy, filled with tender thoughts and flashes of emotion’. A real gem! First performed at the Bouffes du Nord, Paris.
