Humour, rock and protest songs

Friday 16 November – Espaces Yves Roques – Decazeville Les Fatals Picards are a French comedy rock band blending French chanson, punk, ska and a variety of other influences. Founded in the late 1990s, the band quickly made a name for itself through its satirical lyrics, its sense of self-deprecation and its stage energy, which blurs the lines between a concert and a performance. The band is particularly well known to the general public for representing France at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2007 with ‘L’Amour à la française’, a media moment that remains closely associated with their offbeat style. On stage, Les Fatals Picards deliver a festive, irresistibly lively show, alternating between finely crafted lyrics, social satire and infectious laughter: an artistic offering that resonates with the popular and critical spirit of French-language song.
