From 12 September to 13 December 2026, Les Essarts, Bram’s arts and culture centre, will be showcasing Justine Bonnery’s photographs and photo-essays on livestock farming and the countryside of Occitanie, through the exhibition “Chroniques Rurales”. An agricultural journalist for the specialist press and a photojournalist with the Hans Lucas agency, Justine Bonnery has devoted her work to the agricultural and rural world for several years. Originally from La Piège, she travels the countryside of Occitanie to meet the men and women who make their living from the land and livestock farming. Her features, produced for specialist publications such as *PorcMag*, *Pâtre* and *Paysan du Midi*... highlight the diversity of farming practices, skills and regions. As a freelance journalist, she offers editorial teams stories inspired by her encounters and discoveries: local initiatives, innovative practices, adapting to climate change, the succession of farms, and new ways of producing food and living in the countryside. Through this exhibition, she offers a sensitive and documentary-style perspective on a world that is sometimes little known. The photographs on display are taken from reports on farms carried out over the years. They depict the daily lives of livestock farmers and arable farmers, their work, their relationship with animals, the landscapes shaped by farming, and the deep bonds that unite villagers with their land. A collection of rural chronicles, blending journalistic reporting with a photographic perspective. Free admission. The exhibition is open to the public from Wednesday to Sunday, 2 pm to 6 pm.
