This exhibition, held in the Molière Gallery at the Dôme, pays tribute to the 27 Righteous Among the Nations from Maine-et-Loire.

It shines a light on these unsung heroes – non-Jewish men and women – who saved Jewish families and children at the risk of their own lives. Exceptional stories, extraordinary individuals. Yet so close to home. The exhibition is complemented by a tribute to the Jewish families arrested in Saumur and the surrounding area, whose story – thanks to rare archival documents and the work of historians – is told to shed light on the arrests carried out in the department, as well as the anti-Semitic, xenophobic and collaborationist behaviour of an era whose madness and darkness did not spare the Maine-et-Loire. Alongside this exhibition, several performances from the cultural season will echo its themes and celebrate exceptional and heroic figures through their commitment. OPENING TIMES: From 5 May to 5 June 2027, Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 3 pm to 6 pm. Wednesdays from 10 am to 6 pm. + Open during performances.
