Purpose of the association

Through artistic practice, teaching and the promotion of artistic activities: - to foster social cohesion by facilitating unexpected, even improbable, encounters; in this way, it enables people of all ages and from all walks of life to come together through artistic and cultural activities in a spirit of openness towards others, personal enrichment, mutual respect, festive sharing and enjoyment; - to promote access to cultural activities: primarily Afro-Brazilian percussion, but also music, and any activity that helps develop the existing or emerging talents of the association’s members: screen printing, instrument painting, mallet-making workshops, singing, dancing… - to enable every member to play an active role in the life of the association: every member’s voice must be heard and respected on an equal footing with all others, and decisions are therefore taken by consensus; - to promote access for all to participation, the taking of initiative and community life within the association; to encourage everyone’s participation and democracy in the association’s decision-making processes;
