Association pour les Grands Jardins (d'Aigrefeuille sur Maine)

Purpose of the association

The preservation and enhancement of the Grands Jardins area as a unique heritage site of historical and architectural significance and as a ‘green lung’ in the very heart of the town; to conserve and facilitate the development of flora and fauna, particularly protected species, whilst respecting the balance between kitchen gardens and wetlands (notably ponds) or non-kitchen garden areas; to foster social connections through the sharing of knowledge about gardening and the environment, whilst maintaining this place of conviviality and tranquillity; to develop the vegetable gardens by safeguarding the traditional practice of gardening, which, now back in vogue, provides access to healthy and affordable food; to oppose urban development projects in the Grands Jardins (car parks, housing, etc.) in order to preserve them in their entirety and as a unified whole
