Purpose of the association

The association aims to preserve biodiversity in Laos, and more specifically within the Nakai-Nam Theun National Park, whilst respecting the local ethnic communities and working in collaboration with the local authorities; our main activities include biodiversity research; protection patrols within the park; raising awareness amongst Laotian and international communities; training programmes for Laotians; sustainable and alternative development projects for local communities; and any similar, related or complementary activities likely to further their implementation or development; Since 2026, the association has undertaken a strategic shift in its activities in order to make a sustainable contribution to biodiversity conservation in Laos and, more broadly, across the South-East Asian region by strengthening local leadership and capacity; The association therefore pays particular attention to initiatives focused on education, awareness-raising and skills development aimed at Laotian citizens and, more broadly, those in the South-East Asian region, particularly the younger generations
